The STEADY™ Schools Partnership

A whole-school approach to psychological safety, confident leadership and sustainable staff culture.

About STEADY™

Schools are under pressure. Leaders are holding competing demands and staff are stretched.

Burnout in education is not only about workload. It is about culture how safe people feel, how expectations are held and whether trust and professional autonomy still exist within the system.

STEADY™ is a year-long partnership that supports schools and trusts to build psychologically safe, sustainable staff cultures without adding initiative overload. The focus is on changing how pressure is held within schools so people can work well and stay well.

What STEADY™ Stands For:

S – Safety before strategy: Creating environments where staff feel safe to speak honestly.

T – Trust through listening: Meaningful staff voice that is heard and responded to.

E – Expectations that are human and clear: Reducing unnecessary pressure by clarifying priorities.

A – Autonomy within accountability: Restoring professional trust while maintaining standards.

About Laura Cole

I’m Laura Cole, a former teacher and school leader with over 20 years’ experience in education.

Like many leaders, I experienced the challenge of balancing the demands of education with family life and personal wellbeing. Over time, the pressure of holding multiple responsibilities left me stretched, disconnected from what mattered most and questioning what sustainable leadership really looked like.

Laura Cole Coaching grew from this experience. My work is shaped by both professional expertise and lived understanding of the realities of education. With a background in psychology and education, I support schools and leaders to reflect on culture, rebuild confidence and create working environments that are both high-performing and humane.

I work in partnership with schools to support steady, meaningful change, helping leaders hold pressure differently so that confidence, trust and sustainability can filter through whole teams.

Testimonials

Working with Laura has been a game changer for me and my relationship with work. Before we started, I felt overwhelmed by workplace stress, defined my worth by my work and felt stuck in a professional plateau I couldn't seem to break through. Laura provided me with the tools to navigate these feelings with a newfound sense of calm and clarity.

More importantly, she helped me dismantle my self-doubt and truly recognise my own professional worth. This shift in mindset was the catalyst I needed; I finally had the confidence to stop settling and start applying for the ambitious, senior-level roles I once thought were out of reach. If you feel stagnant or undervalued, I cannot recommend Laura and her coaching, highly enough.

Jo | Curriculum manager

I had the pleasure of working with Laura recently, and I can’t recommend her enough. She is incredibly supportive, patient, and calming, creating a space where I felt able to be honest and open.

Through our sessions I gained a much deeper sense of self-awareness and began building confidence in my own identity. Laura helped me reframe past traumas and limiting beliefs that had held me back, giving me the tools to let go of old patterns and move forward with a renewed sense of purpose.

If you're looking for a coach who will help you uncover your true potential while feeling supported and reassured, Laura is the perfect choice.

Lizzie | Company director

You’ve completely changed my mindset and thinking, by asking me to question bad habits of thinking I’d got into.  You helped me to realise that lots of the pressure I felt upon myself was from myself and my own assumptions.

You changed my mindset and within a couple of weeks I’d made small changes that had a big impact. I also realised how my boundaries affect my values. You were realistic and caring but you also encouraged me to put the effort in.

As a result, I have a happier home life and have challenged myself to do things I wouldn’t have done before. Thanks Laura, you’ve really had a massive impact and I’m so thankful.

Beth – Senior Teacher

Working with Laura over the past six weeks has been a genuinely transformative experience. Her thoughtful guidance and insightful questions helped me step back and really look at what’s most important to me, not just in my work, but in my life as a whole.

Laura has a calm yet empowering way of helping you find clarity amid the noise. Each session built on the last, giving me practical tools to prioritise what truly matters and make decisions that feel aligned with my values.

I came away from the course with a renewed sense of focus and confidence in the direction I’m heading. I’d highly recommend Laura to anyone looking to gain clarity, balance and purpose in their life.
